Letztere spielteneine zentrale Rolle als treibende Kraft der Industrialisierung, da die Wasserkraft maßgeblich zumWohlstand und zur Entwicklung der Region als Standort der Textilindustrie beigetragen hat. DieseVielschichtigkeit ermöglicht es, die tiefe Verbindung zwischen Geschichte, Kultur und Umwelt zuentdecken und die miteinander verwobenen Erzählungen der Gemeinde Teufen zu begreifen.
In the exhibition Three Stories, artist duo Michael Meier & Christoph Franz reconstruct a complexweb of properties, legacies, and family stories, examining the effect they have on the built environmentand the townscape, based on the example of the Swiss municipality of Teufen. Their artisticexploration takes place on three levels: as a multimedia experience in the museum space, as ahistorical analysis in the publication, and as site-specific engagement with the community's threerivers. These rivers acted as a key driver of industrialization, with hydropower making a significantcontribution to the prosperity and development of the region as a center of the textile industry. Thisintricate weave of different layers reveals the deep connection between history, culture, and theenvironment and enables us to grasp the closely knit narratives of the Teufen community.
