Aline Schwibbe (geb. 1988 in Hamm, lebt und arbeitet in Berlin) studierte sowohl Psychologie als auch Kunst und ihr Interesse gilt dem zyklischen Charakter von Geschehen und Erleben-in der Erinnerung, in Träumen und im realen Jetzt. Ihre filmischen, fotografischen und mixed media Sequenzen wirken oft wie der Dunkelheit entrissene Ereignisfragmente, die beim Versuch der Sichtbarmachung mehrfachbelichtet wurden. Mit Gesten der Überzeichnung gelingt es Schwibbe bewusste und unterbewusste Erlebnisstränge zu überlagern und vorläufig neu zu verweben. Dennoch gibt es, sagt sie, "keinen Anfang und kein klares Ende" oder eine fassbare Chronologie des angedeuteten Geschehens. Alles existiert gleichzeitig auf einer Bildebene. Die erste Monografie der Künstlerin erscheint anlässlich ihrer im Januar 2025 eröffnenden Einzelausstellung "Now It's Dark" im EIGEN+ART Lab, Berlin. Das Buch stellt Schwibbes umfangreiche multidisziplinäre Praxis vor, die neben Zeichnung, Fotografie und Video auch Sku lptur, Animation, Toninstallationen, und Projekte mit Textilien einschließt. Der reich illustrierte Band enthält Texte von Hans-Jörg Clement, Beate Scheder und Nadine Isabelle Henrich.
Aline Schwibbe (b. Hamm 1988; lives and works in Berlin) studied both psychology and art and her interest lies in observing the cyclical nature of events and experiences-in memory, in dreams and in the reality of the present. Her films and her photographic and mixed-media sequences often appear like fragments of occurrences snatched from the dark and exposed multiple times in an attempt to make them visible. With gestures of overdrawing Schwibbe is able to overlay conscious and subconscious strands of experience and to tentatively interweave them in a new way. However, she says, there's "no beginning and no clear ending" nor is there a tangible chronology for the suggested events. Everything exists simultaneously in one picture plane. The artist's first monograph is published on the occasion of her solo exhibition "Now It's Dark", which opens in January 2025 at the EIGEN+ART Lab, Berlin. The book introduces Schwibbe's extensive multidisciplinary practice, which besides drawing, ph otography and video also includes sculpture, animation, sound installations, and textile projects. The richly illustrated volume features texts by Hans-Jörg Clement, Beate Scheder and Nadine Isabelle Henrich.
