Jörg Widmann's Labyrinth V focuses on the relationship between body, voice and emotion. It features playing techniques that integrate the human body as a medium of sonic articulation and consciously aim to strip away culturally coded forms of expression. The aim is to create a sound practice that is based on pre-linguistic primal sounds and refers to early stages of human existence. The aesthetic tension of the work results from the interplay of an archaic sound material with a labyrinthine structure. Jörg Widmanns Labyrinth V stellt die Beziehung zwischen Körper, Stimme und Emotion in den Mittelpunkt. Es kommen darin Spieltechniken vor, die den menschlichen Körper als Medium klanglicher Artikulation integrieren und bewusst auf das Abstreifen kulturell codierter Ausdrucksformen abzielen. So soll eine klangliche Praxis entstehen, die an vorsprachliche Urlaute angelehnt ist und auf frühe Stadien menschlicher Existenz verweist. Die ästhetische Spannung des Werks ergibt sich aus dem Zusammenspiel eines archaisch anmutenden Klangmaterials mit einer labyrinthisch angelegten Struktur.
