In this volume, Anna Malomud provides a complex interpretation of the two didactic poems of Nicander of Colophon (the
Theriaca
and the
Alexipharmaca
) by exploring the geographical dimension of these works. She finds that the geographical information found in Nicander's works can be understood as a special level in the text and are linked to various aspects of the Nicandric didactic epic.
