Castillo Interior - für Streichtrio. Violine, Viola und Violoncello. Partitur und Stimmen.

The original version of this composition was composed in 2013 for violin and violoncello following a suggestion by the cellist Sol Gabetta. At the beginning of 2014, I spent some time at a house of meditation in an isolated location on the Baltic where I found inspiration for the name of the work. In veneration of Saint Theresa of Avila, the piece is entitled Castillo Interior.This title refers to her book Moradas del Castillo Interior ["Dwellings of the Interior Castle"] written in 1577, considered as the magnum opus of the great mystic.- P_teris Vasks (Translation: Lindsay Chalmers-Gerbracht)Instrumentation:violin, viola and cello

Die Originalfassung dieser Komposition entstand 2013 für Violine und Violoncello auf Anregung der Cellistin Sol Gabetta. Anfang 2014 verbrachte ich einige Zeit in einem Meditationshaus in einem entlegenen Ort an der Ostsee, wo das Streichduo schließlich seinen Namen erhielt. In Verehrung für die Heilige Teresa von Avila habe ich das Stück Castillo Interior genannt.Dieser Titel bezieht sich auf das 1577 von ihr geschriebene Buch Moradas del Castillo Interior ["Wohnungen der Inneren Burg"], welches als das Hauptwerk der großen Mystikerin gilt.- P_teris VasksSchwierigkeitsgrad: 4
